Amick Byram is a successful solo recording artist, and one of the top session singers in Los Angeles. He is also a two-time Grammy nominee and has had a solo performance nominated for an Emmy.
Amick sang the role of Moses in the animated feature film, The Prince of Egypt. He has sung on hundreds of other films including: Shrek, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Pocahontas, Hercules, Mulan, El Dorado, The Greatest Game Ever Played and many others. You have heard his voice on commercials, over 100 episodes of The Simpsons, and several Broadway cast albums including Civil War, Jeckyl and Hyde, and Sunset Boulevard.
Amick has recorded two original full CD musical recording projects and also released singles. Encounter is a concept CD where each song represents a man from the Bible who sings a song at a critical turning point encounter with God. It is dramatic and moving as each song represents Abraham, David, Moses, Jesus, John the Baptist and many others from the Bible.
Hymns Renewed is a CD of beautiful classic hymns that have been musically refreshed. It is a duets project with his wife Cassie, also a professional singer.
Amick wrote and recorded the song, You’ll Never Be the Same, written for the Israel Ministry of Tourism and recently released a new Christmas single, Make My Heart a Manger, written by Kathie Lee Gifford and David Friedman.
As an actor, Amick starred in many professional stage productions including Phantom of the Opera, (Broadway and LA), Les Miserables, in the roles of Marius and Enjolras, Sunset Boulevard as Joe Gillis playing opposite Glenn Close, Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar and many other musicals and plays from Shakespeare to Neil Simon. You may recognize him as Ian Troi, Counselor Troi’s father from Star Trek, The Next Generation. (For all the trekkies out there, he even has trading cards.)
Amick is the president of Oodles Entertainment, Inc. a company producing feature films and animation.
With a degree in business, Amick has always found himself on both the creative and the business side of entertainment being able to seamlessly think, work, create and problem solve in both spheres.
As a commercial theater producer, Amick has directed five world premieres of new musicals with individual show budgets up to $8 million and has produced theater regionally and at the John Houseman Theater in NYC. He is the Founding Producing Director of the prestigious American Coast Theater Company, and is a guest lecturer at leading colleges and universities presenting master classes in the arts and seminars on The Business of the Business.
Amick has produced major events for Fortune 500 companies both in the U.S. and internationally, was the executive producer and director of the 60th Anniversary Birthday Celebration of the Nation of Israel in Los Angeles CA, produced the annual fundraising gala for The King’s University six years in a row, produced and directed the Hayford Tribute television special, and was a producer of the television and radio advertising campaign “You’ll Never be the Same” for the Israel Ministry of Tourism in 2008 and 2009.
Amick is married to Cassie Byram and they have two boys. He enjoys museums, spending time in the outdoors camping, fishing, hiking, and is an avid reader and student of history.
